2D Animation with FLOSS by Franco Iacomella
This presentations pretends to show to the audience the actual possibilities to create 2D animation (even in a professional way) using just Free/Open Software.
The main tool is the non well know software called Synfig Studio: Synfig is a powerful, industrial-strength vector-based 2D animation software package, designed from the ground-up for producing feature-film quality animation with fewer people and resources. While there are many other programs currently on the market to aid with the efficient production of 2D animation, we (the team behind the project) are currently unaware of any other software that can do what our software can.
In the presentation/demo we will show the power of this incredible tool, combined with other and well know graphical tools such as Gimp, Inkscape, Blender, etc. The presentation aims to be a practical approach to a field that is almost unexplored in the FLOSS world.
