Don't submit yourself to the media: BE the media!
Imagine a family in Baghdad, turning the webcam of the BeTV outside the window and streaming live what is happening in the battle in front of their house; imagine a New York family streaming what is going on in the neighbourhood; imagine a person streaming herself while describing to her parents how to use a particular device, or just, imagine yourself streaming your birthday party to friends in Australia.
Imagine you can share your recorded or auto-produced media to everyone by connecting to your personal media channel with the remote control.
You create the content, the media station and even your channel. People can see your channel in the Channel List every time you want - they choose the channel and see you and your media: radio, tv, live shows, surveillance camera, landscapes, concerts, whatever.
Description
Joining together a powerful, easy to reproduce, free base system like dyne:bolic, and a set of user-friendly software tools, we can create a new kind of media-box for bi-directional streaming of live and recorded contents.
In the past years we explored projects based on implementing different kind of SET-TV, and none of them satisfied our expectations. Those boxes and similar devices are simply different from our idea of bi-directional TV. And they are not even free :)
BeTV is meant to be a complete media-box. It can be freely downloaded and installed, or purchased as a complete hardware+software solution. It's not bounded up on any particular kind of hardware, although we will build a pre-configured complete solution.
