Stephanie Brodeur and Darsha Hewitt graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2006 and are based in Ottawa and Montreal. They have been collaborating on electronic and new media art since 2004.  Their artwork often looks at how technology-reliant society silences and reinterprets identity and connectivity.  They invite the public to consider their own individuality and physical presence by experimenting with handmade electronic apparatuses.  The artists are actively involved in the use and documentation of Pure Data.

Hewitt and Brodeur have exhibited and performed in Ottawa at Artengine (2003), Saw Gallery (2003), Ottawa Art Gallery (2005) and Saw Video (2006).  They recently exhibited in Toronto at Interaccess’ emerging artist exhibition (2006). They have works that will be shown at Video Pool (Winnipeg, Canada) and at Art Origin (Strasbourg, France).  They have also taken part in panel discussions at The Ugrade! and the Nettime North America Gathering in Montreal (2006).
