changed: - Adam Overton Adam Overton is a performance artist, musician and composer from Atlanta, Georgia, and is now living near Los Angeles, California. He is currently pursuing graduate studies at Calarts with a concentration in Composition/New Media and Integrated Media. He specializes in computer-assisted sound performance and installation, and his recent work focuses on translating bodily processes into sound by using homemade software, circuits and sensors. Overton has composed music and sound for a variety of situations. Several recent projects have included the solo laptop performance art piece, body.to.binary (October 2004); a chamber piece for percussionists, volunteers, heartbeats and blinks, Beating.Blinking for Bass Drums and Breaths (June 2004); a 7-day meditation-and-sensor-based performance/installation, Sitting.Breathing.Beating.![Not]Thinking (April-May 2004); and Sitting.Breathing.No.1 for solo meditating performer (December 2003). As a curator, Overton has organized a number of performance and music festivals, gallery art shows and seminars, and also co-founded the Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta (EAAA).
