Florian Schneider is a filmmaker, writer and activist, based in Munich. He was one of the initiators of Kein Mensch ist illegal (1997) and subsequent projects like the online-platform Kei.org. Besides several documentaries for the TV station Arte he has organized the events Make World (2001), Neuro – Networking Europe (2004) and Summit – non-aligned initiatives in education culture (2007, with Irit Rogoff). Currently he is curating the performance project Dictionary of War and working on Imaginary Property, a series of texts, films and video installations centring on the question, "What does it mean to own an image?" He teaches art theory at the art academy KIT in Trondheim and is advising researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht.
