Julian Oliver is a free-software developer, composer and writer based in Madrid, Spain. Julian has presented papers and artworks at major international electronic-art events and conferences worldwide and, under the moniker delire has performed game based electroacoustic works at prominent venues throughout North America, the EU, Japan and the South Pacific. Julian has given numerous workshops in game-design, independent game-engine development, virtual architecture and open source development practices worldwide. Julian's work in games began in 1998 with the modification of popular 3D shooter engines in an effort to bring disciplines of architecture and computer music to game design. Currently his work focuses on the development of unique engines entirely directed toward game-driven sound performance and Augmented Reality performance interfaces. In 1998, Julian established the game-based medialab selectparks, which has since grown to be a hub for the independent game-development community, hosting the world's only international game art archives. Selectparks has produced several commissioned works in the areas in game-based 'performance architecture' and virtual knowledge systems.
