Paolo Cirio works as media artist in various fields, net-art, street-art, video-art, marketing-art, public-art, software-art and interaction-design, since 1995. He si doing research on media, communication, politics and cultural anthropology, as an environment that influences the perception of reality. Radically and ironically he plays controversally with semiotic vectors in order to involve the audience in thinking about the meaning of representation of reality. He has studied cinema, teather, electronic, telecommunication, philosohy, design and visual communications. At the University of Art and Spettacle, Italy, he has completed his degree with the topic "Performances in the InfoSpace?, new model and new space of Theather".
As a curator he has done exhibitions of street-art, video-art and documentary festivals, in Italy, London and Berlin. As agitprop he organizes illegal events, from net-strikes to art happenings on streets and actions of culture jamming. As an activist against NATO-militarism, he was the editor of a major international web portal mainly concentrating on the reference of global campaigns against the expansion of NATO.
Paolo Cirio was also part of the famous [epidemiC]? art collective, in which he has collaborated with historically net-art artists: RTmark?, TRansnationalRepublic?, SocialFiction?, Electronic Disturbance Teather, Stewart Home, Shu Lea Cheang.
