changed: - Realtime animation workshop Starting with an overview of livecoding practice and abstract animation history, and going on to concentrate on the design of minimal Scheme scripts for reactive animation. The focus is on using livecoding techniques to build up small programs which are driven by organic or digital processes from the outside world (microphone, keyboard, mouse, gamepad, dancemat or network data). More info on fluxus: http://www.pawfal.org/fluxus/ The plan is to have a bit of a contextual presentation for inspiration (covering abstract animation history/movies, code and artists, brief introduction to livecoding) followed by introducing elements of Scheme by going through some small tutorial scripts, and ending in a more playful session where you will be modifying/creating your own scripts. Previous programming experience will not be required. If you'd like to attend it would be handy for you to have a quick look through the workshop scripts and Scheme primer (link below). Hopefully most of the time will be spent in a more playful mode, as it's the best way to learn these things. I also have some project ideas if people need a little more direction (it can be hard to know what to attempt without knowing the limitations of a new piece of software). Also, if you are an existing fluxus user or Scheme hacker, I'd be happy to help out on some more advanced things. Things you will need:
fluxus 0.11 installed (http://www.pawfal.org/fluxus/files/fluxus-0.11rc1.tar.gz or http://www.artm.org/pub/fluxus/Fluxus-0.11osx.dmg)

workshop scripts and example textures: http://www.pawfal.org/fluxus/files/fluxusworkshop.tar.gz

jack and a working microphone input (highly reccomended)

gimp install for texture creation/editing (highly reccomended)
For reference, a previous fluxus workshop is documented in here: http://www.xmeda.be/xmeda.screen.pdf Feel free to add to this page with ideas or things you'd like to see/do!
