http://www.keyworx.org/ KeyWorx, a  multi-user, multi-modal performance framework, developed for OSX, is now being open sourced.  It is a distributed application that allows multiple players to generate and process images, sounds and text within a shared, realtime, network environment. As an instrument it allows communities of players to dynamically control and modify  digitized media parameters in a collaborative context. As a communications tool it is a vehicle for sending and receiving commands, pushing and blocking choices, negotiating options, improvising and performing in synchronous realtime interchange with live, formatted and generated media. The current research for KeyWorx front-end and back-end technologies is being developed within the framework of MultimediaN, a Dutch research program where institutions, companies and cultural institutions cooperate to develop advanced multimedia applications. http://extern.waag.org/keyworx/kwx.jpg
